Knowing the Way
If I live on my dreams
who is to say it is wrong?
If they give me life
and make me strong
For through my dreams
I see what waits tomorrow
I know the joy it brings
and too
I know the sorrow
You may live a lifetime
and never know your dreams
never know that in your heart
lies sweet and wondrous things
To reality you hold fast
thinking what is real
is what will last
but reality changes with each
passing day
it is your visions that remain
your hopes that will stay…
Facing reality
is only facing today…
Knowing your dreams
is knowing the way…

I linked to your blog from Jennifer’s site and after reading your poetry…am glad that I did. I like your voice, and the pictures are a nice touch. Alison
hi Alison, i’m so glad you dropped by. Jennifer is a wonderful poet - and from the small glimpse i got of your site it looks like you are too. i really loved the picture you used in your header and the name of your blog. i promise to come by soon for a visit.

Those who assume that they face reality could wake up any time and find that it’s all been a dream. All an illusion.
A dream is a possible reality- but so is the “reality” that we see! it is a collection of our assumptions.
good points Natural. i think though that reality is more what we all mutually agree it to be - so to speak - and that is why we can change our ‘realities’ when we employ our own minds. perhaps we should debate this some time, it could be interesting.

Love it!

i thought you might.
This speaks to me of not only dreams, but illusions, reality and change as well. I think dreams are great to have ~ we need them sometimes to help us through. Illusions however, can be so heartbreaking when reality comes knocking.
“knowing your dreams is knowing the way….”
I agree wholeheartedly. It is all about knowing your heart, your deepest inner desires, so that you can make them true over time.

Jennifer,
yes you’re right about illusions (or is it delusion?) those can be very heartbreaking and truly ruin a person. but i see you got what i was trying to say:
It is all about knowing your heart, your deepest inner desires, so that you can make them true over time
knowing your heart and your calling i think, really is the way.
