I’m loving that picture!! Really does make you think of lawyers doesn’t it??!
Kelly
yes. and the pic was such a find too.

The picture is perfect as is the haiku.
Love the word ’subterfuge’.
Funny that they think no one sees their dark plotting side.
If that’s so, what’s up with the plethora of lawyer jokes? Hmm…

or maybe it’s that they know that they will get away with it? a shame since advocacy was intended to champion those unable to speak in their own behalf.

For some reason this was even darker for me, like the mafia, or selling your soul, which I suppose all go hand in hand with lawyers-some anyway. I, too, like the word ’subterfuge’; mostly because I wasn’t expecting it.
yes, i suppose once you get past the surface humor there is a dark side to be sure. it is something to think about.

Just reminded me of the following line in the film, Rain Maker:
“Just another shark in dirty waters”
Poor sharks! Taken as symbol of sin by humans, although they have worked for millions of years cleaning the seas!
Cheers,
Robert-Gilles
i think perhaps because sharks will eat anything and that socially that is considered cold and cruel - that the shark gets the comparison. but at least in the case of the shark they are trying to get rid of the garbage. lawyers on the other hand…..hmmm
sarah
Loan sharks, card sharks, as well as a descriptive term for lawyers. Where does it all stop? Stemming all the way back, too, to the erea of the carnival barker, midway con men were labeled “sharks.”
Gets to the point where you start feeling sorry for the poor water creatures, themselves.

hi jack,
i never thought of that before, but you’re right, it nearly amounts to animal cruelty.
