In the spirit of the love I feel for each of you, I have written haikus for those of you whom I’ve missed previously. Hope you like them. They were written with love.
Sarah

Spaz:
nature girl delights
to see wild mama bird nest
on her patio
Evyl:
big handsome brute like
nobody you have ever
met in any life
Michael:
soft soul with good heart
defying the injustice
that life gave to them
Jennifer:
loving mother light
shines in her children’s sweet eyes
and makes the world good.
Lolly:
lovely red rose she
opens to the sun of life
and tickles our minds
Maureen:
kick ass mother earth
gives sage advice selflessly
and the laughs are free
Alison:
disappeared from view
her words haunt and linger still
come back to us please
Natural:
where’s the energy
pulsating and delightful
that we crave alone
Mark:
haiku master he
that gentle taps my mind’s edge
and takes no credit.
Kelly:
coffee fiend and friend
fiery passionate girl
so glad I know you.

I mourn your passing too much

Lately,
my soul wonders
if it still has
a pulse.
And I…
Breathe…
through every turn
of the knife
that cuts into
the spirit
Grimace…
at the pain
and smile to the
one who seeks
to hack away
the ideas
Dance….
away from the granite
hearts of smaller minds
that do not see
what is in front of them
and calling
their names
Defy…
the dark and coldness
that will not live
in the light
of beautiful things
that spring
from my
imagination.

it’s a sad funny
that gets my laughs
that makes me step back
to see how obtuse
is my life
and turns the corners
of my mouth
upward.
yet my spirit
hovers closer to the earth
neither rising nor descending
owning its position
over the fence
that prevents the decision
from making itself
for now
the sad funnies
will have to suffice
until the big bright
world comes back
into view and smacks me
around a little

I don’t disguise
my depression
I wear it proudly
and with defiance
It is the only
thing in my closet
that always looks
good on me.

When my life hurts
I imagine my other life
on the road not taken.
But, my mind wants to know
if is it the road not taken
that determines my life
Or me?
Would I be a different me
if I chose a different road?
Would the me of me
change with the seasons
the colors or the geograhy
Just because?
Or is it a trick
I play on myself
to explain away
my choices
good and bad
right and wrong
smart and stupid?
Even in my imaginings
I seem not able
to remove me from me
Untaken road or not.
No matter where I travel
in cars, on foot, in my imagination
the me of me is always there.

It is always amazing to me that artists can literally turn any element into a work of art. Enjoy!
