A Moment

The laughter of the sun
hums and buzzes like
the honey bees hovering
the orange tree in
my backyard.
A blanket of cool, green grass
spreads out lazily
and sighs the summer day.
My pencil to paper
and mind to idle thoughts
drink in the moment
like sweet tea.

Very well actually, I really enjoyed reading about this moment. Wish we had the weather here today to have a moment like this. Nice job. You’ve got some talent lady. Kim
i must say when i saw the list of words i didn’t think i’d come up with anything. ah yes…the ultimate summer moment - at least for me. drop by any time - my backyard is filled with these moments.

Great one Sarah!
Was disciplined not to show up here before I was done and now I am so glad I didn’t.
Cool.
thanks sweetie, i will have to go look at what you did with this odd little list of words.
sarah
I mean ‘didn’t’ of course.

“cool green grass”
I can’t wait for that. It’s been dismal here in the Northeast.
Very pretty little poem, Sarah.
I have to get crackin’ on my ditty.

Lovely job, Miss Sarah.
thank you dear, but aren’t you supposed to be resting? how are you doing?

The coming of Spring is always a magic moment.
Having to mow the grass on our cricket ground and tending the surrounding area is more of a pleasure and discover than a chore!
Cheers,
Robert-Gilles
i agree, i actually love the spring chores. it is like throwing off the blankets and airing out the room.
