Hourglass

If time were
something I
could hold onto
something I
could grasp tightly
something I
could own outright
something I
could control
something I
could understand
something I
could love truly
It wouldn’t be
so scary
to watch it
pass me by

Hello
First time reader - first time responder…wait, let me turn my radio down…thats better, now you will be able to understand me when I say, nice poem…
Poetman
hello poetman,
sarah
thank you for reading - and liking the poem. hope you’ll come back again.
A great read, we should make friends with time then.
hi tom,
how are you? perhaps making friends with it, would be a good idea. how would one go about it?
sarah
Creative picture!
it is a wonderful picture isn’t it?
sarah
YES!!
I absolutely loved this.
And… I relate to it well.
Been missing you. Sorry I’ve been scarce.
kim
oh thanks sweetie. been missing you too but i’ve barely paid attention to my poor neglected blog lately - hot on my new project. let’s try to stay in touch though.
love
sarah

just one thing though
Time
my dear

it swaddles you
it holds you to its bossom
it protects you
from experiencing everything in this life all at once
it provides tho opportunity
to live
each
moment

i’m afraid i’m working on a new book and it’s taken a lot of my free time. i feel badly that i’ve neglected my little reading room so much, but i keep vowing to get back on it. i will and soon. thanks for caring.
(((hugs)))
sarah
To have the option to stop time and yet choose instead to let it pass by would truly be a marvelous gift, even in the dream world. ^_^
The photo is incredibly stunning, by the way.
Cheers.
yes, it would be an incredible gift. i love the photo too. thanks for reading.

Hey, I miss my poet friend. At least she’s doing something else creative, my poor time seems to flow through my hands like wind through my hair.
I need some inspiration…. but more than that I need to make some time to catch up with myself.
This morning I sat on my 1 hour train ride with a blank page infront of me. Managed to write a few lines in the last 5 minutes, nothing exciting. What a sad moment.
Oh well, I know I am off balance. I have 3 days off this weekend and I need it.
Hope all is well and congrats on your new book start. Would love to take a peek.
S.
i miss me too.
i keep vowing to get down to business and be here more but the muse calls. i’d be happy to send you a peek - just email me.
don’t disparage you few lines from this morning. sometimes, getting it down means more than what ends up on the page. i understand feeling off balance - it must be a change phase for you - i think i am going through one too. but you are so centered as a person, you will weather it well. of this i am sure.
and i will try to be better about posting more and visiting. i just need to get more organized.
love
sarah
Damn, is it ever scary! The Buddhists tell us that we can derive comfort from the knowledge that nothing lasts forever. Sadly, I’ve never quite been able to make that one work for me.
-smith
it’s funny because i don’t believe that nothing lasts forever. perhaps on a physical plane that’s true - but it seems the physical is such a small part of what we are really. but i would say that things do always change, though, don’t they?
sarah
Hi Sarah,
Took me time to come back, but you forgive me, will you?
I guess accepting time as a constant in our lives will be the first step in making friends.
We’d stick with time with the good times.
We’d stick with time in the bad times.
We’d finally part with time in no time.
There’s always a goodbye, in even in the staunchest of friendships.
Love the way you make me think.
hi tom,
i’m always glad to see you whenever you have time to drop by. i’m glad i make you think because that makes me think too.
