Because

It was a good day
because I wrote
Because ideas clung
to the paper.
The ink sunk in deep -
permanently.
I offer my world
to your focus.
And I leave it
as a fingerprint
of my spirit.

Fingerprints of our spirits. I love the way you put that.
True, true, and I agree that good days are often when I am able to share with finger prints, capturing a special moment.
Me likes.
you know, i really think that - that is what writers do - leave their fingerprint in that way. i’m not sure readers know that or if they need to, but we do, don’t we?

There are all sorts of good days, aren’t there? How good it feels to sit back at the end of the day and find the good parts, dumping the rest by the wayside.
Jennifer
hi jennnifer!
if only we could dump the rest by the wayside, how lovely would that be?
sarah
Sarah-

For a writer that is a GOOD DAY!!
Heather
it is indeed, heather. how are you? haven’t seen you in the longest time.

I like this for many reasons, the most important is that just like the picture you chose for this piece, it makes me feel as if something magical has happened and that adds excitement to my reading, and makes me feel a part of something special. And I must say that when you write like this, I am. Well done my friend.
Kim
thanks, kimmie. i thought you would appreciate this one - as we are both so in love with books and old bookstores.

I had a few days like this earlier this week. You captured the uplifting spirit of such days beautifully and succinctly. –DHS
why thank you very much, david. the irony is that just after i wrote this i’ve suffered from writer’s block.

I spent the morning yesterday helping my daughter fully understand what the subject of Language Arts really is. I could see the light go on! This poem is a perfect example of the art of language. I can’t wait to show it to her.
hi kelly!
i’m flattered that you would use this poem to teach your daughter about language. thank you so much.
love,
sarah
