Looking

Posted at 2:20 pm under Poetry, original fiction

Looking for my future
within the rocky path

The sky reaches out
and sings its morning prayer

The sun hugs my soul
and pulls at my thoughts

Predator black birds crowd the view
searching hapless prey

Today, I am not their
victim.

It’s always nice to keep the old shotgun handy. Keep the birds at bay.

good advice, i do need shotgun, now that you mention it. :) sarah

very strong ending, also like the alliteration, sky, sun, soul, searching. good.

i love it when you notice my alliteration, kim. ;) sarah
