Looking

Looking for my future
within the rocky path
The sky reaches out
and sings its morning prayer
The sun hugs my soul
and pulls at my thoughts
Predator black birds crowd the view
searching hapless prey
Today, I am not their
victim.

It’s always nice to keep the old shotgun handy. Keep the birds at bay.

very strong ending, also like the alliteration, sky, sun, soul, searching. good.
i love it when you notice my alliteration, kim.

“The sun hugs my soul and pulls at my thoughts…” oh what a lyrical bit of prose! You truly have an artists mind and its been a pleasure exploring it here!
