Truth

Posted at 7:46 pm under original fiction

Is the truth
in the blackness?
Or is it
simply
nothing wrapped
in nothing?

Truth may be in the blackness but most good lies are whispered in the dark.

ain’t that the truth? ;) sarah

If truth exists it does, by nature, exist pervasively, yet as darkness, in-observably. Being that all things observed are lies as they are filtered by perspectives of reality, observation being subjective, truth cannot be seen.

that’s deep, ozi. but i for one, believe that there is an ultimate truth and it is somewhere to be found. i’ll let you know if i stumble onto it.

Have you heard the sound of one hand? (Lao Tze)
If you have, you might get nearer to the truth!

    interesting…

Sarah, these philosophical verses are exciting to think about…I guess truth is like the black of outer space, it can never be denied for so long.

    hi tom!
you may be right - the time for denying the truth is over.

Could it be that truth is wrapped in lies?

Ah, just thinking out loud, Sarah. The question seems wrong even to my ears, but that’s the first thing that came to my mind when I read your verse.

Nice one… (your verse, that is).

the funny thing about lies, sherma, is that there is always a little truth to them, isn’t there?

This was very interesting. I find myself pondering why you chose ‘blackness’ to represent the place where truth lies. And then moving on to suggest the blackness may also be nothing, which also suggests the hint of an illusion, which then in turn, ties back into the idea of truth and what we know and believe to be truths and whether or not there is anything remotely tangible in them. Wow, provoked some thought for me. I liked this, S. Love coming over here and finding your creative juices sparking. Inspiration for us all. kim

    kim,
i love that your mind seeks to find the deeper meaning in things.
