Change is Good
Yes, life is going to be different
while color-blazed leaves
swirl-around me and the earth
begins a journey of annual sleep.
I am awake and alert
While summer dies and moves away from me
I am renewed -enlivened.
While doors shut and windows lock
my mind opens to something not yet named
but known somehow.
Not yet formed but familiar.
A hand waves from the window and I pass by -
beneath the cheer, returning the wave.
My steps echoing through the empty street.
And I think to myself, “Change is good.”

Staying the same would get sooo boring after awhile. Change is good for the soul.
i totally agree, evyl - i hate it when things always stay the same. no stimulation.

That’s a good idea to have before going out of the door, I see a gate of pleasant possibilities and occasions of testing one’s strength. Don’t know why, but “steps echoing through the empty street” evokes in me a resolve to change or be changed. What a pleasure reading you.
