Sense of Small

A sense of small
tumbles over me
and pulls the greatness
into the ebony
of past and present
and I wonder
at the color of
the moon and
the secret of her
smile
I ponder the silence
of the noise that
flips and flaps
at reluctant ears
I question the wisdom
of grander souls
and hush in
their presence
waiting for the lesson

Being in awe, is a special moment. A cure for the jaded and cynical, a relaxant, one might say. I like the flow from the celestial to the human, as if our heroes are walking stars. Nice.
you make a good point, tom - thanks for the kind words.

This I like best:
“I ponder the silence
of the noise that
flips and flaps
at reluctant ears.”
