Talking to Myself
And I wonder
why you think you’re
unworthy of love
True and deep
real and abiding
With a soul such
as yours
who could not help
but
love you?
No one can make
a guarantee
but they can promise
to try
and give everything they have
to that promise
hope that it goes
to the best of them
not the worst of them
and even if it went to the dogs
they would have
tried anyway
Wouldn’t they?
And the universe is
so much larger than any of
uS
yet infinitely smaller
in understanding
and
care
For the universe does not
care if you feel love
but
