I have no method of writer divine
No savvy technique that I define
Just simple thoughts from my heart
No secret sage to impart
I write the words that come to me
Without judging meaning or symmetry
simply state what I find true
And hope like hell it speaks to you
My book is open for all to see
no poet’s guise to shelter me
My pardigm is just my view
My eyes are yours for looking through

You are my peace
my ocean of dreams
my forest sanctuary
You are my star
my moonlit night
my roses in bloom
You are my heart
my every breath
my smiling eyes
You are my joy
my morning sun
my evening breeze
You are my touch
my tender kiss
my only embrace

You are my moment
my bright tomorrow
my butterfly sky
that shimmers with fluttering wings
trembles with color
and vibrating breath
You are my hour
my peaceful repose
my sing-along breeze
that composes the wind
dances the trees
and coaxes the
leaves toward Autumn’s ballet
You are my day
my promise of now and
ever-more
My sun-drenched dreams
that nurture my heart and
rests my mind on afternoon’s shoulder
You are my time
my long ago, my now, my will be
the true in the truth
the big in the small
the wave in the swirl
that carries me softly to
moonlight’s embrace

Old trees and mountains
wise and timeless
Pick up trucks and road trips
of dusty meanderings
The magic light that
paints the image
Evening rains that sing
me to sleep
Morning sun that lifts
me from dreams
Railroad tracks and roadmaps
treasures that hide in the woods,
waiting
The sky from your eyes
the quiet you give
the breeze that knows
your name

The missing piece to
the puzzle
The words I needed
to complete the thought
The sunshine that was
just behind the clouds
The photograph I
never framed but always
Kept
The rose petals that
lead to my door

if freedom were a wing that i could climb upon
a feathered fearless sanctuary that could
carry my soul forward
lean my eyes toward dawn
I would fly as one sparkle
across a slated sky
I would float as I was meant to
I would see

Pretty words
dressed in Sunday best
to impress the congregation
Amen
Can I get a witness?
I have seen the light
Let’s all sing in hymnal praise
at the alter of the chosen one
self annointed
freshly scrubbed ego
ready to deliver us
from mundanity, profanity, insanity
Amen

Wagging tongues tempting the knife
hearts thudding in gossipy malice
sing-song
twittering in the ether
hiding in the hallways
sneaking through back doors
careful not to make a sound
shhhhh
covetous eyes
produce the desired image
it gluts on spite and sends it
to the take-out counter
for further
conSumption
never knowing it chews their own
asses whilst their backs are turned
