New Winter

Posted at 8:40 am under Life, Poetry, nature, winter

Cold, really cold
geese touch down
ground for the winter
cluster in parks and fields
The sky hovers between
grey and icy blue
The sun hurries
across the sky
giving way to an
arctic yellow moon
that smiles and shivers
and fogs a nightly halo
For the first time
in years….
I need a hat

I felt the same way when I saw snow this year for the first time in six years. Awesome moment really. love it. kim

it really is a magical thing, especially after you haven’t witnessed it in a very long time. i was struck most by the sense of quiet that exists during the snowfall - hard to put into words but so peaceful.
