the light awaits you

Would You?

If I told you
my secrets
would you keep them
to your death?

If I shared
my soul
would you hold it
to your last breath?

If I saved
all my smiles
would you treasure
every one?

If I held out
my hand
would you take it
walk with me in the sun?

If I gave you
my heart
would you promise
to be kind?

If I opened
my embrace
would you want
to always be mine?

The Me of Me

When my life hurts
I imagine my other life
on the road not taken.

But, my mind wants to know
if is it the road not taken
that determines my life
Or me?

Would I be a different me
if I chose a different road?
Would the me of me
change with the seasons
the colors or the geograhy
Just because?

Or is it a trick
I play on myself
to explain away
my choices
good and bad
right and wrong
smart and stupid?

Even in my imaginings
I seem not able
to remove me from me
Untaken road or not.
No matter where I travel
in cars, on foot, in my imagination
the me of me is always there.

Same Moon

If we look at the moon
in the same sky
on the same night
Are we side by side?

If my spirit hears you
and my soul feels you
Are you here?
Am I there?

If we are soul mates
will we find each other
and discover
We were never lost?

Scary or Sweet?

Not long ago, my buddy Evyl did a really fun post that linked to a quiz which would tell you just how scary you are. Sadly, I discovered I was not scary at all. In fact, it said I was sweet. (boring!) But of course Evyl scored very high on the scary meter (lucky bastard). We got to talking and we thought we’d do our own little test of sorts.

Word association. He came up with a list and I came up with a list. You can see Evyl’s list with my word association and his and below is mine. Remember, I’m sweet and he’s scary. LOL.

Court
Sarah says: Woo me like no other.
Evyl says: The stuffy building where the judge bangs the gavel and says ‘ One more outburst and I will gag you like transvestite bondage queen.’

Line
Sarah says: Dialogue at its best.
Evyl says: What you use to pick up loose women at a seedy bar. Such as ‘Do you have a mirror in your panties because I can see myself in them.’

Paisley
Sarah says: Pattern that is thankfully no longer fashionable.
Evyl says: Isn’t that the pattern you get with Dollar Store Boxer Shorts?

Revile
Sarah says: Hatred from my deepest darkest places.
Evyl says: The emotion shared by all my ex-girlfriends.

Body
Sarah says: The home in which our spirits live.
Evyl says: A good quality to have in beer and women. Too thin and you have lite beer and bony chicks but a good full body and you have Guiness and one hell of a woman.

So, are you sweet or scary? It’s a fun question to ponder.

Was It?

Was it true love
what we had?
Soul Mates true
or passing ships?
Meant to be
of meant for the moment

Do you wonder?
What if?
Am I there
hovering in the back
of your mind too?
Do I lurk
in your soul
as you do in mine?

After all this time
is the memory fresh
as today’s sunrise
or yesterday’s news?

The Edge

Flying out on the edge of the universe
looking down,
trying to make some sense
but sense doesn’t make.

It’s so damned quiet up here
don’t know what to think
I’m not scared
but I’m not happy either.

Got to get over the
edge
over the edge of
the universe
get beyond the boundaries
beyond the walls
but if I do,
I won’t come back
maybe…

Would you miss me
if I didn’t?

Fancy

Caught in a fancy
of daydreams and chances
trapped in a vision
of you.

Dazed with the dancing
of heart strings and stanzas
and perfect clear-sky
of blue.

I want an answer
to the question I’ve asked
I’m out on the edge
of my dreams

Is it perchance sir
that you’re on the last
of your many magnificent
streams?

We wear our masks
and join in the folly
of those who need
nothing more.

Artistic our tasks
but constant we’re calling
for angels to walk through
our doors.

Send me your secret
give me your story
I’ll keep it safe
to the last.

I’ll make words befit
your pain and your glory
and together we’ll
forget the past.
