Hush

hush of birds
nestle tree limbs
and gather warmth
in numbers
My eyes are blurred
with remnant dreams
that still wander down the
hallway of waking memory
The hush of mist
settles soft on verdant hills
angel breath breezes
utter sleepy salutations
Branches bow on graceful tree
and slumber under blankets
of filmy clouds
The world is empty
of busy noise and
surrenders to
avian chitters and secret code
